I am a recent Masters graduate from Ravensbourne College of Design & Communication where I produced a dissertation on Community, Landscape and Governance: Factors Affecting the Emergence of a Sense of Place in a Virtual World. My art interests include genetics, ecosystems and artificial life; phonemes, graphemes and meme theory; complexity theory and emergent properties of systems; the ways in which different parts of an open system interact with each other and with parts of neighbouring systems; virtual worlds and online communities.

Recent projects include Now They Are Surrounded: Reconfigured - an interactive screen-based work, made in collaboration with Art & Language and Chris Smith, PgUp - a mixed reality performance art event held simultaneously in the virtual world, Second Life and Notice Gallery, Deptford and ambient_light - a programmed ecosystem recently exhibited in London and Colchester as part of the Nine Artists group exhibition, Down to Earth.

Recent jobs include Digital Media Coordinator for the Research Assessment Excercise 2008 at Sir John Cass Dept. of Art, Media & Design, London Metropolitan University and web design for Systems Art Symposium at The Whitechapel, London.

Born in Birmingham in 1969, I grew up in Essex and now live in South London.
